ALTERNATIVE FIRING WORKSHOP

 in Belfast, Maine

SEPTEMBER 27-29, 2019

 

 

 

Come join us for a 2-day Alternative Firing Workshop in beautiful Belfast, Maine!  Workshop to cover a range of alternative firing methods, including aluminum foil saggar firing, clay saggar firing, horse hair, and naked raku.  

 

Class size limited to 4 participants, so sign up soon.  Workshop cost includes lunch and firing materials.  Accommodations and additional meals are available for a reasonable cost, if requested.

 

Participants must bring bisque-fired work, preferably pots coated with terra sigillata.  Some details below, but more detailed instructions will follow after enrolling.  To reserve your place in this workshop, email WestThirdCeramics@gmail.com

Description of Classes and Workshops

Wheel-throwing and Firing Classes  

  • 3-hour per week instructional classes and open studio time

  • Maximum of 4 students for optimal personalized              instruction

  • Cost is $225 for a six-week class and includes 50 lbs of clay for wheel-throwing classes 

Workshops

  • Workshops begin Friday evenings at 6-9 pm, continue Saturdays   9 am-6 pm, and finish Sundays 9 am-3 pm

  • Workshop cost (includes lunches and clay or firing materials)

  • Rooms and other meals available for out-of-town participants for Friday and Saturday nights for an additional cost
